Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. Hot. Cold/refrigerated. Tasks: Attend to gas escape calls. Install gas heating units and their components. Measure and mark reference points for installation of gas lines and equipment. Service gas heating units and their components. Install and maintain meters and regulators and gas lines between gas unit and gas meter. Repair and service gas appliances and related equipment. Advise clients regarding standards, safety features and maintenance of gas units and systems. Test and adjust control mechanisms and check pipes and piping connections for gas leaks using gas detecting devices. Test and replace defective equipment or components. Measure, cut and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment. Measure and lay out reference points for installation. Interpret gas codes. Handle, recover and store refrigerants. Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components. Provide customer service. Start up system and test for leaks using testing devices. Troubleshoot heating systems. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Gas Fitter Certificate - Level 2 or B. Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year.- LocationBrampton, ONL6Y 5Z5
