Specific experience in the mining industry is considered an asset.The ability to work in a dynamic consulting environment that requires flexibility and the willingness to work overtime, as required.A typical day on the job might look like:Providing leadership and mentorship of junior and intermediate environmental professionals and staff.Providing consulting services in the field of contaminated sites management for government and private industry clients.Providing technical support to a wide variety of environmental projects, including the preparation and supervision of field programs, data analysis, and technical report writing and proposal preparation.Data compilation and interpretation, including water quality results, hydraulic response testing data analysis, water balance assessments, water take/dewatering estimation, and impact assessment analysis.Interpretation and application of municipal by-laws, provincial and federal acts and regulations.Senior review of technical documents as a Professional Engineer/Professional Geoscientist.Business development in support of growth of the contaminated sites and environmental practices.Managing client needs and client communication for a given project.Project management and budget development and management.Adhering to all company policies.Performing other duties as required.The good stuff you get:Full time salaried position.Fair pay plus extra: competitive salary with year-end profit-sharing bonusComplete health & dental coverage including vision, paramedical services, and TeladocRetirement planning made easier with a 5% employer match on your contributionsPaid time off (vacation and sick days) plus Employee & Family Assistance Program when you need itOffice year-end closure (paid time off between Christmas and the New Year)Your background and what you bring: A bachelor's degree in engineering or geoscience from an accredited institution, or a bachelor's degree in earth science or environmental science. A post-graduate degree is considered an asset.Professional license in NL (i.e., P.Geo. or P.Eng.), or sufficient experience as an environmental scientist in contaminated sites to qualify as a Registered Site Professional.Current registration, or the eligibility to be registered as a Site Professional with the Impacted Sites Management Section (ISMS) of Newfoundland and Labrador Environment and Climate Change.Minimum 12 years of relevant professional experience.
