Overview Reporting to Director of Operations, as the CSO is responsible for overseeing and managing the health, safety, and environmental programs and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining safety policies and procedures to promote a safe working environment, reduce risks, and ensure the health and safety of employees and visitors. Key Responsibilities ® *Policy Development and Implementation:* Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. Ensure that all policies and procedures are up-to-date and communicated effectively to all employees. ® *Compliance and Risk Management: *Monitor and ensure compliance with WCB and other relevant health and safety regulations. Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions. Manage and investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and develop preventive measures. ® *Training and Education: *Develop and deliver health and safety training programs for employees, including new hire orientation and ongoing training. Maintain records of training activities and ensure that all employees are properly trained and certified as required. Ensure sites have sufficient PPE and safety supplies on hand. ® *Safety Program Management:* Maintain COR certification and standards throughout Enersolv. Develop and implement safety programs and initiatives to promote a culture of safety within the organization. Monitor and report on the effectiveness of safety programs and recommend improvements as needed. Host monthly JOHS meetings with committee members. ® *Emergency Response: *Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures. Conduct drills and simulations to ensure preparedness for emergencies and coordinate with emergency services as needed. ® *Regulatory Liaison: *Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies and ensure timely submission of required reports and documentation. Keep abreast of changes in health and safety regulations and standards and implement necessary updates to company policies. ® *Documentation and Reporting: *Maintain accurate records of health and safety activities, incidents, and inspections. Prepare and present regular reports on health and safety performance, trends, and compliance status to management. ® *Consultation and Support: *Provide expert advice and support to management and employees on health and safety issues. Work closely with other departments to integrate safety practices into daily operations and projects. Required Qualifications ® Bachelor?s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field. Certifications such as Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) are preferred. ® Minimum of 5 years of experience in health and safety management, preferably in mechanical construction projects. ® Thorough understanding of WCB regulations, safety standards, and risk management practices. ? *Skills:* ® Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. ® Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. ® Ability to develop and deliver training programs. ® Proficiency in using safety management software and tools. *Attributes:* ® Detail-oriented with a strong focus on safety and compliance. ® Ability to work independently and as part of a team. ® Strong organizational and time-management skills. *Working Conditions* ® On field; may require occasional travel to various sites. ® Potential exposure to hazardous materials and- LocationVancouver, BC
