Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs. Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware. Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites. Instruct apprentices. Supervise other workers. Estimate costs and materials. Operate CADD and other computer software systems. Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling. Physically demanding. Own tools/equipment: Safety equipment/gear. Steel-toed safety boots. Safety glasses/goggles. Personal suitability: Accurate. Reliability. Team player. Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year.
