Education: College/CEGEP. Library science, other. Administrative assistant and secretarial science, general. Tasks: Issue and receive books and library materials. Answer quick reference questions. Assist library users in accessing basic library materials. Reshelve books and library materials. Maintain classified collections (shelves shift, shelf-read). Provide lending services and facilities for return of loaned items. Perform routine clerical duties. Handle and maintain library equipment (e.g., microfilm/microfiche readers, large print readers, etc.). Provide general information to clients and the public. Organize mail by address and load into mail bag. Move, sort and pile materials and products. Book appointments. Perform data entry. Computer and technology knowledge: Word processing software. Library automated system. Internet. Statistical software. SharePoint. Database. MS Excel. MS Word. MS Windows. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Vulnerable sector check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Standing for extended periods. Personal suitability: Client focus. Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Excellent written communication. Judgement. Organized. Team player.
