POSITION SUMMARYThe Intervention Worker position is suited for a compassionate, creative, innovative problem-solver who works comfortably with both culture-based and western services. As part of the FASD Multidisciplinary Team, the Intervention Worker will be a front-line position with the primary responsibility to develop and provide neurobehavioural intervention training and support to families of children and youth diagnosed with FASD or At Risk of FASD, their educators and circle of support.The successful candidate will be an integral member of the FASD Multidisciplinary Team and will be involved with children and families from referral to post assessment. Pre-assessment the Intervention Worker will provide basic education to caregivers. Post assessment the Intervention Worker will provide virtual training to caregivers, educators, and the family?s circle of support in the neurobehavioural model of intervention. The Intervention Worker is responsible for the preparation of teaching materials, implementing the programming, monitoring and recording the client?s progress and the effectiveness of the individualized programs.EXPERIENCEA minimum of one (1) year experience with a pediatric FASD population, and / or working with children and families whose children are neurodiverse. Experience providing education and support in both one to one and group settings. Experience working with Indigenous people in community-based settings and fluency in a traditional language is an asset. QUALIFICATIONS· Completed diploma or degree: Early Childhood Education, Child & Youth worker, Psychology, Social Work, Teacher Education Program or a related field.· Knowledge of the Regulated Health Professionals Act and the Child, Youth and Family Services Act.· FASD Post Graduate Certificate Program graduate preferred.· Neurobehavioural Intervention Training Certificate ? or eligible to obtain.· CanFASD Multidisciplinary Team Training Certificate ? or eligible to obtain.· Experience working with children with neurodevelopmental disorders such as FASD, ASD, developmental delays, ADHD and intellectual disability.· Knowledge of FNIM Culture, Values, and History.· Experience working within culturally appropriate service models for Indigenous people.· Awareness of Health and Wellness issues pertaining to FNIM People.· Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.· Proficiency providing care on virtual platforms (Ontario Telehealth Network).· Ability to communicate and work effectively on a multidisciplinary team.· Knowledge of community care requirements and resources available.· Professional, responsive, and positive work attitude is essential.· High level of sound and independent judgment, reasoning, and discretion.· Advocates for clients as warranted, and facilitates connections between clients and community supports, to assist clients in accessing required resources.· Uses sound professional judgment and acts in accordance with all SKHC policies and procedures and standards of practice set forth by their professional college if applicable.· Maintains professional competence and knowledge of current practices by participating in professional development and clinical supervision.· Works as a member of an inter-professional/multi-disciplinary team in collaboration with community partners for the purpose of consolidating and coordinating client treatment.· Demonstrated strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.· Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and multitask efficiently.· Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with people of various cultural, age, and economic backgrounds.· Ability to communicate information effectively through a variety of means including meetings, reports, letters and presentations.· Valid Ontario driver?s license and use of own vehicle for SKHC busin- Location Greater Sudbury, ON
