Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work setting: Construction. Commercial. Tasks: Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems. Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware. Instruct apprentices. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Working at heights training. First Aid Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Carpenter Red Seal Certificate. Fall Arrest Protection Training Course. Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling. Physically demanding. Tight deadlines. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Steel-toed safety boots. Hard hat. Personal suitability: Client focus. Judgement. Reliability. Team player. Values and ethics. Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years.
