Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Dusty. Work setting: Manufacture. Marine. Installation. Fabrication. Construction. Tasks: Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment. Operate brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines. Interpret welding process specifications. Install door, window and other hardware. Determine weldability of materials. Verify accuracy and completeness of data. Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), (AOC). Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products. Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications. Operate hoisting and lifting equipment. Verify machined parts for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments. Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments. Type of materials: Stainless steel. Composite materials. Aluminum alloys.
