<p>ABOUT MONEYSENSE MoneySense is one of Canada's most trusted personal finance brands — award-winning, editorially independent, and relied on by millions of Canadians navigating financial milestones that matter most.</p><p>We've been a fixture of Canadian financial life for over 25 years, and we remain as relevant and necessary as ever.</p><p>Since our acquisition by Ratehub Inc.</p><p>in 2018, MoneySense has maintained full editorial independence while gaining the backing of a leading Canadian fintech.</p><p>MoneySense provides the independent insight and expert context Canadians need to make smart financial decisions, while Ratehub provides the platform to act on them.</p><p>Together, we help Canadians at every stage of their financial journey: Spend, Save, Borrow, Invest, and Protect.</p><p>We're at a pivotal moment for the brand.</p><p>Readers are changing how they consume content, and AI is changing how they find it.</p><p>In that world, the value of a human-led, trusted brand has never been higher, and there's a growing appetite for financial journalism that goes deeper than a quick answer.</p><p>MoneySense has the editorial heritage, the data assets, and the fintech infrastructure to lead that evolution.</p><p>THE ROLE As Managing Editor , you will own MoneySense's editorial output end-to-end, from strategy and planning to execution and performance.</p><p>Reporting to the GM of Memberships, you will work at the intersection of editorial, product, and engineering to build a content engine that is credible, data-driven, and built for the modern Canadian reader.</p><p>This is a foundational leadership role.</p><p>You are the architect who will shape how MoneySense looks, speaks, and performs in its next chapter, by bridging the craft of journalism with the rigour of a data-driven product organisation.</p><p>YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Editorial Leadership & Strategy Own the end-to-end editorial process, ensuring every piece of content meets MoneySense’s high standards for accuracy, independence, and authority.</p><p>Rethink the editorial calendar to reflect shifts in consumer behavior, prioritizing high-value, expert-led content that goes beyond simple search queries.</p><p>Recruit, brief, and manage a roster of freelance contributors and vetted financial professionals (CFPs, tax experts, etc.) for quotes, columns, and the "Ask MoneySense" franchise.</p><p>Authoritative & Original Reporting  Assign and edit content optimized for both traditional search (SEO) and generative engines (GEO), prioritizing proprietary data, original reporting, and expert insight that AI cannot replicate.</p><p>Produce data-led stories by combining Canadian public datasets (StatsCan, CMHC, Bank of Canada) with Ratehub’s proprietary data to generate unique financial insights.</p><p>Lead reactive coverage for major financial events (e.g., Bank of Canada rate decisions), ensuring expert-led analysis is published and distributed within hours of an announcement.</p><p>Develop reporting formats that feature real Canadians and expert commentary (e.g., financial profiles and annotated case studies) that go deeper than anything AI can generate.</p><p>Performance & Optimization Manage the update cycle for "Best of" guides and cornerstone content to ensure they remain accurate, competitive, and relevant for readers.</p><p>Monitor performance metrics across Google Analytics, SEMrush, and other tools to identify shifts in how readers discover and interact with our content.</p><p>Use data insights to optimize content, improving discoverability and the reader journey from first touchpoint to financial decision.</p><p>Guide social media and newsletter distribution strategies, ensuring content is packaged effectively to drive audience retention and direct engagement.</p><p>Oversee digital publishing workflows to ensure content is formatted and distributed in adherence to brand standards across all platforms.</p><p>Collaboration Work- Location Toronto, ON
