Education: College/CEGEP. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Optical retail store. Office of health care professional. Ophthalmic or optical laboratory. Private practice. Tasks: Operate ophthalmic testing and measuring instruments. Clean and maintain equipment. Process claims such as health insurance or workers compensation. Perform general clerical duties. Prepare and maintain cleanliness of collection areas. Process files and paperwork. Schedule and confirm appointments. Take patients' general medical and ophthalmic history. Manage routine office functions including reception, telephone and booking appointments. Assist clients in selecting eyeglasses. Process money, cheques and credit/debit card payments. Adjust eyeglasses to fit customers . Computer and technology knowledge: Electronic medical records. Transportation/travel information: Own vehicle. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Personal suitability: Accurate. Client focus.
