<p><strong>*** Full Time - Permanent ***</strong></p><p><strong>Wednesday-Sunday - </strong>1500-2300</p><p><strong>(Friday-Sunday)</strong>0700-1500 and <strong>(Monday-Tuesday)</strong>1500-2300</p><p><strong>SCOPE AND LEVEL DEFINITION</strong></p><p>Within the context of a Licensed Care setting ICMHA provides homes for people living with mental illness and concurrent disorders. McCauley Lodge is home to 30 people over the age of 35 who are often living with additional health conditions associated with aging in place. Greenridge and Eagle Rock is home to 16 residents under the age of 35yrs. These homes are transitional in nature (2 years) as residents work towards independence and skill building using a Psychosocial Rehabilitation model.</p><p><strong>TYPICAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES </strong></p><p>?Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care to meet the needs of clients in accordance with competency guidelines within the established standards of practice and current legislative scope of practice;</p><p>?Participates, as a member of an interdisciplinary team, by providing clinical input in the development, implementation, assessment and evaluation of client care plans. Attending care plan meetings and modifies care plans under the supervision and direction of the RN/RPN;</p><p>?Reporting to and following the directives of the Provider, the RN/RPN, and the DOLCO;</p><p>?Ensure compliance with all relevant health care regulations and standards, including those set out by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM);</p><p>?Administers medication to residents and provides medication reminders, in accordance with regulatory body (BCCNM) requirements and organizational policies and procedures;</p><p>?supervise Mental Health workers and community support workers who assist with aspects of ADL's</p><p>?Safe administration of medication, including injections, and conducts follow up assessment, intervention, and documentation;</p><p>?Observes clients and their environments, ensures pertinent information and significant clinical changes are communicated in a timely manner to the Director of Care, Manager and team;</p><p>?Monitors safety and reports risks, near misses, incidents, accidents and unsafe and/or hazardous conditions to the RN/RPN and the DOLCO;</p><p>?Provides support and feedback to clients and their families;</p><p>?Completes and maintains all documentation such as progress notes, observations, incident reporting, nursing interventions and client charting according to established standards, regulations, policies and procedures, ensuring confidentiality is maintained according to ICMH policy;</p><p>?Documents information including relevant clinical data, assessment information, treatment plans, progress reports and care plans manually and/or in a computerized environment (Point Click Care); </p><p>?Maintains an up to date knowledge of policies and procedures, particularly those concerning the administration and recording of medications, licensing, safety and emergency procedures;</p><p>?Accompanies residents to psychiatric and specialist appointments, reporting back to the Director of Care where necessary;</p><p>?Liaises with care providers to schedule appointments;</p><p>?Provides to clients a variety of clinical interventions such as life skill development, recreational activities, self-management techniques, engaging family, etc.;</p><p>?Verify, process and execute orders as per the client?s Provider (physician/psychiatrist);</p><p>?Advocate for resident rights and access to high quality mental health care;</p><p>?Participates in the Nurse-on-Call rotation;</p><p>?Performs other related duties as assigned including MHW tasks and meal prep/delivery roles</p><p></p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p>· Minimum two (2) years related experience in a Mental Health setting is preferred (Mental Health education available if needed); </p><p>· Graduation from a recognized p- Location Victoria, BC
