?Job Description?The Opportunity:As part of Maple Leaf Foods? Maintenance Team, the individual will be responsible for maintaining and servicing equipment used in the facility for the daily production of our products. In doing so, they will support safe plant operations, uphold a safe working environment for all team members, and ensure equipment and processes align with our commitment to animal welfare standards.Our Millwright rate is $46.81/hour, with an additional premium of $0.70/hour for the night shift.?The Perks of Joining Our Team:Tool AllowanceSafety Footwear and Eyewear Allowances100% Employer-Paid Benefits (health, dental, STD, LTD, life insurance)Defined Contribution Pension PlanEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Corporate discounts (e.g., GoodLife Fitness, Rogers)Commitment to Learning ? courses, resources, and tools provided to all employees?What You?ll Bring:The successful candidate will be results-oriented, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have the ability to develop positive working relationships with all employees.Red Seal Millwright Certification (required)Must have own hand toolsStrong knowledge of plant and equipment operationsProven ability to troubleshoot and solve mechanical issues in a fast-paced environmentGood mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skillsAbility to organize, prioritize, and plan daily tasks with minimal supervisionComfortable working both independently and in a team-based environmentExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively with Production, Maintenance, and cross-functional teamsWillingness and ability to work overnight shiftsAvailability for weekend overtime as production demands requirePhysically capable of handling heavy equipment (in excess of 25 kg)Poultry or food production experience is considered an asset?A Snapshot of Some of the Exciting Things You Will Lead and Do:Troubleshoot, repair, and install processing equipment to ensure efficient and timely resolution of mechanical issues, with a working knowledge of electrical systemsPerform preventative maintenance and complete work orders, accurately tracking labour, parts, and inventory within the plant?s computerized maintenance system (SAP)Apply strong mechanical knowledge?including power transmission, pneumatics, and hydraulics?to diagnose issues and implement effective corrective actionsRead and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics to support troubleshooting, repairs, and equipment improvementsPerform machining and fabrication work to support equipment repairs and upgradesConduct welding repairs and fabrication of equipment components in compliance with food safety standardsRespond to oral, written, and electronic work requests in a timely and efficient mannerCommunicate daily repair activities and equipment status with Maintenance, Production, and cross-functional teamsMaintain accurate records, including notes, labour hours, and parts usage in SAPAdhere to all Health & Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, WHMIS, MSDS, BRC, and Company policies and procedures
