Job details
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Tasks: Load and unload goods. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Perform brake adjustments. Perform emergency roadside repairs. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Perform preventive maintenance. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption. Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Air Brakes Endorsement. Driver's License (Class 1 or A). Documentation knowledge: Driver logbook. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Sitting. Weight handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs). Personal suitability: Flexibility. Judgement. Organized. Reliability. Employment terms options: Early morning. Evening. Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years. Employment terms options: Morning.
