Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Various locations. Tasks: Attend to gas escape calls. Install gas heating units and their components. Measure and mark reference points for installation of gas lines and equipment. Service gas heating units and their components. Install and maintain meters and regulators and gas lines between gas unit and gas meter. Prepare tenders and quotations. Instruct apprentices. Advise clients regarding standards, safety features and maintenance of gas units and systems. Supervise other workers. Test and adjust control mechanisms and check pipes and piping connections for gas leaks using gas detecting devices. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Gas Fitter Certificate - Level 2 or B. Gas Fitter Certificate - Level 3 or C. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Personal suitability: Accurate. Client focus. Dependability. Team player.
