Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work setting: Fixture manufacturer. Relocation costs not covered by employer. Wood products manufacturer. Millwork shop. Tasks: Set up, program and operate one or more computerized or manual woodworking machines. Fabricate or repair wooden parts for furniture, fixtures and other wood products. Operate gluing machines to glue pieces or wood together or press and affix wood veneer to wood surfaces. Operate preset special purpose woodworking machines to fabricate wood products. Read and interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions. Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment. Replace parts as required. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Equipment and machinery experience: Drills. Gluing machines. Routers. Sanders. Saws. Area of specialization: Millwork. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks. Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Standing for extended periods. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Steel-toed safety boots. Safety glasses/goggles. Ear plugs. Screening questions: Are you currently legally able to work in Canada?.
