Welding engineering technology/technician. Mechanical engineering/mechanical technology/technician. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Manufacture. Tasks: Assist in inspection of mechanical installations and construction projects. Assist in preparing design, drawings and specifications. Assist in the design of moulds, tools, dies, jigs and fixtures. Carry out a limited range of mechanical tests and analyses of machines, components and materials. Participate in machinery installation, repair and maintenance. Computer-aided design (CAD). Design tools, moulds, jigs and fixtures. Prepare and interpret engineering design, drawings and specifications. Prepare standards and schedules. Supervise maintenance programs or operation of mechanical plants. Supervise, monitor and inspect mechanical installations and construction projects. Technical writing. Test machines and equipment. Computer and technology knowledge: Mastercam CAD/CAM. MS Excel. MS Outlook. Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Equipment and machinery experience: Welding. Area of work experience: Embedded systems. Research and development.
