Overview:<p>The Principal at our Montessori School in Ontario will play a pivotal role in fostering a nurturing and intellectually stimulating environment for students in Toddler - Grade 12. The successful candidate will be a visionary leader with a deep understanding of Montessori principles, the Ontario Curriculum, a commitment to academic excellence, and a passion for inclusive education.<p>Responsibilities: <p> Educational Leadership:<p> Provide visionary leadership to uphold and advance the Montessori philosophy within the school.<p> Collaborate with teachers to ensure the implementation of effective, innovative, and student-centred teaching methods.<p> Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development for faculty.<p> Curriculum Development:<p> Oversee the development and implementation of a comprehensive Montessori curriculum for Toddler - Grade 12 students, ensuring alignment with Ontario curriculum standards and Growing Success.<p> Collaborate with educators to create an engaging, challenging, and developmentally appropriate curriculum.<p> Student and Staff Welfare:<p> Prioritise the well-being and individual development of each student and staff member.<p> Implement strategies to create a positive and inclusive school culture that supports the social and emotional growth of students and staff.<p> Parent and Community Engagement:<p> Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, fostering open communication and collaboration.<p> Actively engage with the community, representing the school at events and establishing partnerships to enhance the educational experience.<p> Administrative Oversight:<p> Provide effective management and oversight of day-to-day school operations.<p> Collaborate with administrative staff to ensure efficient functioning of the school, including admissions, scheduling, and resource allocation. Financial Management: <p> Work closely with the school board to develop and manage the annual budget. Ensure financial resources are allocated effectively to support educational initiatives and maintain fiscal responsibility. Professional Development:<p> Encourage and support the professional growth of staff through training opportunities, workshops, and ongoing education.<p> Compliance and Accreditation:<p> Ensure the school adheres to all relevant education regulations and standards.<p> Work towards and maintain relevant accreditations and certifications, including Canadian Council of Montessori Administrators (CCMA), Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) and the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (accredited by the Ministry of Education)<p> Crisis Management:<p> Develop and implement emergency response plans to ensure the safety and security of students and staff.Qualifications:<p>A minimum of 5 years of experience in educational leadership, preferably within a Montessori environment.<p>Ontario Principal's Qualification Program (PQP) certification or equivalent experience.<p>Member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers.Strong knowledge and commitment to Montessori principles.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.Proven ability to build and lead a collaborative and high-performing team.Experience with a Non-For-Profit (NFP). <p>Application Process:<p>Interested candidates are invited to submit their resume, cover letter, and two references to hanis@uottawa.ca by Monday, April 15, 2024.<p>Our Montessori School is committed to diversity and inclusion.
