Student Support Teachers Sask DLC Swift Current, Estevan, Moose Jaw, Kenaston, or Prince Albert Campus The Saskatchewan Distance Learning Centre requires two temporary, full-time Student Support Teachers to be located in our Swift Current, Estevan, Moose Jaw, Kenaston or Prince Albert regional campuses. The position will commence on immediately or date to be determined by the successful candidate and conclude June 28th, 2024. The teaching assignment will include Student Support Services and other subjects scheduled in consultation with the school-based administrator with student services responsibilities. The Student Support teacher provides support to students with diverse needs, helps with differentiation of instruction to meet the needs of all learners and collaborates with classroom teachers and parents in supporting the needs within the school. The Saskatchewan Distance Learning Centre is a newly formed Treasury Board Crown Corporation in Saskatchewan, created to deliver high quality and equitable online learning programs to students across the province. The SDLC head office is located in Kenaston, with an administrative office in Regina, and nine regional campuses located in Swift Current, Moose Jaw, Estevan, Yorkton, Saskatoon, Nipawin, Prince Albert, Neilburg and La Ronge. The SDLC will deliver online programming to full time online students and part-time students attending schools across the province.Experience in student support, online teaching or online program supervision would be considered an asset. At the Saskatchewan Distance Learning Centre, we are committed to providing students with a quality online educational experience; an integral part of that being meaningful student and parent interactions. As an online instructor, you will work with students in an online environment and will in most cases, be the primary point of contact for our learners. We are looking to recruit teachers who seek to understand the challenges of online learning and strive to create real connections with our learners, bridging the distance between them. Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate: student-centred decision making innovation and creativity to support students achieving learning outcomes in a variety of approaches that fit student needs and interests communicate effectively with parents on student educational needs and progress strong time management and organizational abilities; flexibility with the capacity to problem solve; strengths in collegiality and collaboration; communicate clear and effective feedback on student progress collaborate with colleagues on course development self-motivation commitment to work collaboratively with all staff to carry out the mission and vision of the SaskDLCExperience with technologies such as Clevr, Moodle, MySchoolSask, and online communication software would be considered an asset.
