Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work setting: Structural steel plant. Relocation costs not covered by employer. Platework fabrication plant. Sheet metal fabrication shop. Metal products manufacturing company. Heavy machinery manufacturing. Industrial facility or establishment. Tasks: Operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale and other materials from surfaces of metal products. Assist structural steel and platework fitters, sheet metal workers, metal machine operators or other metal workers. Sort metal sheets and parts, scrap metal and other materials. Grind or chip excess metal from metal products using hand tools. Clean machines and immediate work areas. Transport raw materials, finished products and equipment throughout plant manually or using powered equipment. Load and unload vehicle. Read and interpret work orders. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Working at heights training. Student status: Full time enrollment. Part time enrollment. Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools. Hand truck. Lifting device. Security and safety: Bondable. Driving record check (abstract). Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks. Physically demanding. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Handling heavy loads. Weight handling: Up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs). Personal suitability: Dependability. Excellent oral communication. Flexibility. Reliability. Team player. Resourcefulness.
