Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Noisy. Dusty. Tasks: Set up, program and operate one or more computerized or manual woodworking machines. Read and interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions. Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment. Replace parts as required. Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts. Stack and band lumber. Sort lumber for further drying, trimming or remanufacturing. Sort, stack, bundle and stamp materials. Saw, trim and plane rough lumber into dressed lumber of various sizes. Operate automated lumbermill equipment from control rooms or consoles. Measure lumber to ensure specified thickness, length and width. Type of product: Lumber. Equipment and machinery experience: Saws. Transportation/travel information: Public transportation is available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots.
