*PURPOSE* This position is responsible for the installation, inspection, repair, and maintenance of gas lines and gas equipment such as meters, regulators, heating units and appliances in residential, commercial and industrial establishments. *PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES* The primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following: * Installing/Exchanging Gas Utility Equipment ? pipes, meters, regulators on utility side of meter and connections to supply lines. * Maintaining and repairing gas lines on the utility meters and minor repairs on the customer meter. * Testing of safety controls on defective equipment and/or components. * Apply testing and replacements for utility equipment only. * Testing and adjustment of control mechanisms and check pipes and piping connections for gas leaks using gas detecting devices. * Advising clients regarding standards, safety features, and maintenance of gas units and system. * Flexibility to travel to different locations within assigned work Area/Region. *REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALITIES* * Technical Expertise * Diagnostic information gathering * Strategic thinking * Analytical skills * Decisiveness * Detail oriented * Results oriented * Customer orientation * Process oriented * Customer service oriented * Hard working * Enthusiastic * Safety oriented * Exceptional communication skills * Personal credibility * Self-motivated * Team oriented *KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED* * Continuous knowledge development of Lakeside?s Quality Management System and other applicable tools and documentation. Participation and knowledge of Lakeside?s Health and Safety program, policies, and regulations. *EXPERIENCE* * 1-3 years as a Gas Fitting trades person * Experience within the gas industry and/or service sector is an asset. *EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS* * Completion of a three (3) year apprenticeship program. * Must have obtained a Gas fitter license; G2 *ADDITIONAL INFORMATION* * Contractual agreement will be presented once a drivers abstract and criminal background check is submitted. * Ability to travel * _Looking at a comparable area with similar available-per-technician workload, the average annual gross earnings total is approximately $90,000 +/- dedicating full time hours/work week._ Job Type: Subcontractor COVID-19 considerations \*NOTE ? applicants must be prepared to participate in the interview process via phone and/or video conference.\* Job Type: Full-time Salary: $60,000.00-$90,000.00 per year Schedule: * 8 hour shift * Holidays * Monday to Friday * Weekends as needed Application question(s): * This position is for an Independent Contractor vacancy.
