We are currently recruiting for *Industrial Coatings / Painting Tradesmen *for different projects around *Lower Mainland, BC*.
*KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:*
* Complete blasting / coating / painting tasks in penstock, oil refinery maintenance coatings, tanks, vessels and pipeline as directed from Supervisor;
* Assist supervisors in field operations as required;
* Troubleshooting issues with field sandblast unit, compressor, blastpot, hose etc.;
* Select appropriate coating and mix as per manufacturers specifications;
* Testing the atmosphere and paint/coating thicknesses and filling out the required documentation;
* Holiday testing when required and filling out the proper documentation;
* Coordinate with onsite client representatives;
* Working safely and maintaining a clean working environment;
* Clean equipment and perform routine maintenance;
* Work in a safe and conscientious manner
*QUALIFICATIONS:*
* 2+ years of directly related work experience operating various types of equipment;
* NACE Level 1 or 2 is preferred;
* C3 or C5 Lead Certification an asset;
* Lead abatement experience and training preferred;
* Experience maintaining tools an asset;
* Red Seal Painter certification is considered an asset;
* Experience with sandblasting and bristle blasting preferred;
* Experience running a plural component pump an asset;
* Experience applying 100% solids epoxy coatings preferred;
* Experience with HV and LV holiday testing;
* Must be adept with two-part epoxies, zinc coatings, high temperature coatings, surface prep to all SPC surface prep classes;
* Requires thorough knowledge of lead abatement methods, protections, and testing for workers;
* Requires ability to write and contribute to job specific Environmental Control plans and NOPs;
* Requires excellent oral and written skills;
* Requires strong organization and time management skills;
* Requires close attention to detail
