Physical Health and Education Teacher <p>Job Description- Full Time (Kindergarten - Grade 2) <p>Commences September 2024<p>Crescent Heights Academy is looking for a full time teacher to support the Primary Years Programme through Physical and Health Education. This position is full time PHE. As CHA is a growing school offering a high school program, there are opportunities that this position could lead to teaching either elementary, middle or high school, depending on candidates preferences and passions.<p>Responsibilities include but are not limited to: <p> Work collaboratively with others to plan and deliver programming using the PYP frameworks <p> Design and facilitate learning experiences and engagements that inspire, engage, motive, and challenge learners <p> Develop a caring classroom environment with positive relationships at the core <p> Monitor, guide, give feedback and assess student learning using a range of tools and strategies <p> Communicate effectively and regularly with colleagues, students, and their families <p> Attend and participate in school functions and events <p> Supervise students at recess and/or lunch breaks <p> Coach co-curricular teams and lead intramurals each term <p> Additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the Head of School and as outlined in our Staff Handbook <p> Be a contributor within the Fraser Valley School community<p>Qualifications: <p> A Bachelor of Education <p> Hold a valid BC teaching certificate <p> IB PYP Training is considered an asset <p> Experience teaching Physical and Health Education in an elementary setting, ideally in an independent IB school <p> Passion and commitment to inquiry-based and concept driven instruction <p> Experience coaching elementary co-curricular sports teams <p> Canadian resident and be legally entitled to work in Canada <p> First Aid Certificate <p> Strong classroom management skills <p> Collaborative team member <p> Effective communication skills <p> A self-starter, someone who sees a need, and strives for solutions<p>This position is full-time.
