Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work setting: Animal shelter. Tasks: Prepare food and feed animals. Clean and disinfect cages, pens, aquariums, kennels, runs, stall and enclosures. Keep records of animals treated. Assist with inoculation and treatment of animals. Supervise helpers. Monitor and document animal behaviour. Financial and budget administration. Perform general cleaning duties (i.e. sweeping, mopping floors). Process files and paperwork. Animal specialization: Domestic animals/pets (cats, kittens, puppies, dogs, etc.). Transportation/travel information: Own vehicle. Own transportation. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Fast-paced environment. Weight handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs). Personal suitability: Dependability. Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication.
