Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Determine materials required. Lay out reference points and patterns. Assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures. Weld or bolt sections together. Study engineering drawings and blueprints, determine the materials required, and plan the sequence of tasks to cut metal most efficiently. Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties. Inform supervisor of mechanical malfunctions or product irregularities. Cut, shape and fit materials to form parts and components. Follow emergency and safety procedures. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Manual dexterity. Hand-eye co-ordination. Attention to detail. Personal suitability: Organized. Reliability. Team player.
