As a Senior Operations Representative, you will be responsible for processing transactions requested by the field/executors and beneficiaires as it relates to the operation of Registered Retirement Income Plans, Registered Education Savings, Tax Free Savings, Registered Retirement Savings, non-registered accounts, and Locked-In plans across all business lines serviced. You will ensure all transactions are processed to the highest standard as per regulatory requirements under the Income Tax Act and various provincial acts. You will review transaction requests and any accompanying documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to processing. Is this role right for you? In this role you will: Be responsible for front-line field communications on registered plans Set up Income Plan (RIF/LIF/LRIF) payment profiles and process payments for income accounts as required ensuring accuracy of tax rates Review and process "unlocking" transactions including reviewing required government and firm documents prior to processing Review and process special withdrawals/transfers/transactions Review and process withdrawals for RESP accounts, contribution adjustments, swaps, and maintenance of notional information Review forms ensuring calculations are accurate as to type of requests and are allowable within set governmental limits Be responsible for monthly and annual filing for grants and other incentives from the Canada Education Savings program, the Quebec Education Savings Incentive (QESI) and government incentive programs as required Analyze and resolve problem items and propose the best solutions and act on corrections as agreed to by the field Issue duplicate and amended tax receipts for contributions or transfers as requested by the field Review and set up pre-authorized contribution (PAC) applications ensuring timeliness of set-ups and correction/amendments which impact clients' accounts Review exception/non-exception reports as assigned to ensure that transactions processed adhere to Scotia Capital and Scotiatrust procedures as well as CRA/HRDSC (for RESP accounts) rules and regulations Process and assist executors, beneficiaries and other representatives with Estate related documentation, processing, and verifications Sundry duties as assigned.Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? ? We'd love to work with you if you have: Business education and/or investment industry experience An ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and projects Self-starter and independent task oriented, to work with minimum supervisor based on guidance from senior management Familiarity with regulatory/compliance aspects of registered retirement programs specifically but not limited to rules pertaining to the Canada Education Savings Grant, Canada Learning Bond, Enhanced Canada Education Savings Grant, and Provincial Grants Strategic and analytical attributes Effective communication skills both verbal and written and strong people skills Attention to detail and are tthorough and efficient A clear focus on client service An ability to make decisions Team oriented Location(s): Canada : Ontario : Toronto Scotiabank is a leading bank in the Americas.
