Posting Number: T24-48<p>Date Issued: April 17, 2024 POSITION <p>Worksite: Chilliwack Secondary School<p>Contract Type: Continuing, Full-Time<p>Assignment Area(s): In-House Alternate Education (Pathways) Grades 9-12<p>Salary Range: $50,000 to $107,000 (range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance to the collective agreement) <p>Effective Date: September 1, 2024<p>Please Note: The assignment within this position in September may not be identical to the assignment in this posted position.<p>Deadline for Applications: April 25, 2024 12:00 pmElectronic Applications must be submitted through Make A Future www.makeafuture.ca and include a Cover Letter, Resume, Teaching Report, Transcripts & the names of 2 supervisors who can comment on your teaching.Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience:<p> extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching all areas of this assignment <p>knowledge of, and demonstrated application of the Ministry of Educations current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment <p>Post-secondary coursework & successful experience in teaching students with social, emotional & behavioural needs<p>extensive academic training and post graduate coursework in the following areas: students with special needs; strategies for adapting and modifying curriculum<p>Ability to create cross-curricular learning opportunities for students across all subject matter<p>demonstrated willingness to participate as an integral member of the School Based Team<p>demonstrated success at working with and coordinating SEL programs with the CYCW<p>demonstrated sensitivity, awareness and understanding of young adolescent development and enthusiasm for working and fostering a positive relationship with students with multiple challenges in a trauma-informed manner<p>knowledge of, and demonstrated application of the Ministry of Educations current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as outlined in the Manual of Policies, Procedures and Guidelines for Special Education Services<p>demonstrated ability to use strategies that enable students to self-regulate behaviors<p>demonstrated ability to Case Manage students including all Case Management roles & duties<p>knowledge of and demonstrated experience in the development, writing, implementation and evaluation of CB-IEPs in consultation with the classroom teacher(s), parent(s), student and district personnel<p>Demonstrated ability to plan individual and small-group learning experiences through an In-House Alternate Program<p>proven ability in designing, modifying and adapting the curriculum to meet the diverse individual needs of students<p>demonstrated ability to motivate and provide success for students who experience difficulties with learning and require additional support through student services<p>demonstrated excellence in the area of interpersonal skills, communication, and collaboration<p>demonstrated commitment to use technology for teaching and to communicate consistently and effectively with parents and students<p>demonstrated commitment to and engagement in lifelong professional and personal learningFor Further Information Contact: Danielle Wicker, Principal (604) 795-7295
