Maria Montessori Academy is an independent school in Victoria offering dynamic, hands-on learning to students from Preschool to Grade 12. This is a community based school boasting low student/teacher ratios and an all-around excellent working environment.<p>We are seeking a full time BC teacher to join our Lower Elementary team beginning September 2024. This specific posting is for a well-established Lower Elementary (grades 1-3) classroom of 23 students.<p>Montessori training and/or experience is an asset, but please do not hesitate to apply if you think you might be a good fit.<p>The classroom teacher should be a forward-thinking educator and is expected to deliver lessons from across the curriculum, following both the provincial and Montessori curricula; while maintaining a safe, caring, and inclusive classroom environment.<p>Desired qualities in a candidate are:<p>*Elementary Montessori accreditation<p>*BC Teacher Certification<p>* Current First Aid & CPR-C<p>* Successful experience working with and understanding students of this age group<p>* Excellent communication skills with students, their parents, and colleagues<p>* Being organized, punctual, and reliable<p>*Invested in professional development and furthering their own learning as a professional<p>*Interested in working collaboratively with classroom assistants and other teachers<p>*Excited about participating in extracurricular activities<p>We are seeking local applicants only.<p>Please submit your resume and cover letter to the Vice Principal, Christine Tuttle at viceprincipal@mariamontessoriacademy.net .
