Jewell Engineering Inc. provides solutions for municipal infrastructure renewal, such as water and wastewater replacement, road reconstruction, and bridge rehabilitation and reconstruction. Land development services include site servicing for residential and commercial developments. In addition to these solutions, the company also provides project management, construction supervision, water resource engineering, topographic surveys, and quality verification.
_Summary_
A Professional Engineer that designs and supervises a civil team in the design and development of construction and land development projects. Responsibilities include design and plan production for a wide variety of projects which may include site layouts, horizontal and vertical control, grading and drainage, paving, hydrology & hydraulics, site utilities, and associated civil engineering activities.
_Qualifications_
· B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from an accredited university degree program
· P.Eng. designation preferred (eligibility to gain designation as P.Eng. mandatory)
· Responsive and results oriented in service to clients
· 5-10 years? experience in general civil engineering
· Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D, MicroStation, and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Access and Project required.
· Ability to plan, schedule work and complete work assignments within established budgets and timelines.
· Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with desire to work on a wide variety of projects and has a ?Can Do? attitude.
· Valid Class G Driver?s License and possession of vehicle
_Duties & Responsibilities include;_
1. Guide civil projects through the design and approval process including coordination of design activities and meetings between design staff, stakeholders and client managers.
2. Lead project team in completion of infrastructure rehabilitation and reconstruction projects and commercial and residential land development including project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost, and scheduling.
3. Mentor and assist junior staff in the design and approval process for various civil oriented projects.
4. Preparation of relevant reports required to support designs and applications.
5. Complete project risk analysis in the decision-making process for procurement including preparation of proposals and quotations.
6. Establish working relationships and contact with client technical staff and project managers.
7. Participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost, and scheduling performance.
8. Identify schedule and cost variances and develop and implement recommendations for corrective action.
9. Perform/oversee engineering design tasks for roadway, municipal water and wastewater projects from preliminary to final design.
10. Develop specifications and cost estimates with project team.
11. Prepare ?For Tender? final bid packages.
12. Oversee and/or complete municipal OSIM inspections.
13. Prepare OSIM inspection reports.
14. Oversee and/or complete municipal road needs studies including physical road assessments.
