Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Tasks: Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy. Drive lighter, special purpose trucks. Load and unload goods. Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Pay and receive payments for goods. Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo. Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies. Recruit and hire staff. Ensure smooth operation of computer equipment and machinery. Conduct performance reviews. Co-ordinate activities with other work units or departments. Arrange training for staff. Co-ordinate, assign and review work. Plan, organize and oversee operational logistics of the organization. Supervision: 5-10 people. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment.
