HEALTH-PROMOTING SCHOOLS COORDINATOR <p>1.0 FTE Temporary full-time Health Promoting Schools Coordinator / District Food Coordinator position and Physical Literacy teacher, beginning September 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025. <p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: An understanding of and experience with the Health Promoting School Pillars/Principles<p> Experience in health-promoting initiatives at the school or district level<p> Experience in the area of social-emotional learning and professional development.<p> Experience with collaborating and communicating effectively with community /regional/provincial agencies which provide services to youth of the community. <p> Training and experience working with a wide range of grade-level students. <p> Experience with adapting materials, resources, assessments and learning outcomes for student needs.<p> Valid BC Teaching Certificate and familiarity with BC Curriculum and the Guidelines for Food & Beverage Sales in BC Schools. Teaching category five or higher. <p> PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A commitment to supporting a variety of learning needs. <p> Excellent interpersonal skills and strong organizational skills.<p> Ability to lead, plan and implement programs. <p> Experience providing professional learning opportunities to schools, district and communities.<p> Committed to establishing and maintaining positive relationships with students, staff and parents. <p> Masters Degree in School Counselling or related area.School District 58 is working to ensure an inclusive, diverse and representative workforce.
