Position: School Psychologist (2 positions)<p>Location: Area 1 (Thompson) and Area 5 (Norway House) <p> Being based in the Division Office (Winnipeg), with regular travel to support the Area may be an option<p>Start Date: September 3, 2024<p>FTE: 1.00 FTE <p>Term of Employment: Permanent<p>Application Deadline: Open Until FilledThe Division provides a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, transportation and moving expense reimbursement, subsidized housing or housing allowance and isolation allowance in qualifying communities, annual travel reimbursement, reimbursement for approved courses and more!<p>Reporting to the Assistant Superintendent, Student Services and Wellness, the School Psychologist works collaboratively with the Student Services and Wellness support team, the Area Superintendent, school staff, parents/guardians, clinicians and outside agencies. This role supports the schools and communities in Area 1 and/or Area 5 of the Division to provide a comprehensive range of psychological services to Nursery to Grade 12 students including assessment, diagnosis, intervention, consultation and recommendations. QUALIFICATIONS Masters Degree in School Psychology <p> Valid Manitoba School Psychologist Certificate (or eligibility for) <p> Successful completion of formal training in psycho-educational assessments<p> Strong written and verbal communication skills, effective organizational and computer skills; and the ability to meet multiple deadlines<p> Strong clinical skills and a broad knowledge base in child and adolescent development, cognitive processes, mental health, school and community systems, learning, and behaviour disorders<p> Experience working with students who have a broad range of exceptional needs<p> Commitment to working with Indigenous and First Nation communities and using culturally affirming and culturally safe practices <p> Training in Threat Assessment (VTRA), ASIST, Trauma-Informed Practices, and Cultural Safety is an asset<p> Valid Manitoba Drivers license <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES <p>The successful candidate will provide a broad range of school based psychological services including but not limited to: Conducts and interprets psychoeducational assessments of students related to learning, social-emotional and/or behavioural challenges<p> Works collaboratively with school support teams and parents/guardians to identify and develop support for student needs<p> Participates in School Support Team meetings to provide recommendations related to learning strategies, interventions and/or specialized programming<p> Prepares and submits written reports in accordance with Division timelines<p> Liaises with outside agencies to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive approach to student planning and intervention<p> Forwards referrals to outside agencies in consultation with school personnel and/or the Student Services Team <p> Works with the Student Services Team to facilitate professional learning for school staff and parents<p> Provides support to school communities related to threat assessment (VTRA), crisis response and trauma-informed care<p> Maintains confidentiality in accordance with professional guidelines<p> Adheres to Frontier School Division policies and procedures<p> Applicants are required to submit the following: cover letter<p> current resume<p> list of three professional references including email addresses and contact numbers, all of whom must have knowledge of the applicants performance in the applicants current or recent assignment &l
