Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our team. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supervising the manufacturing of electrical equipment. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of projects and the overall efficiency of our operations.
This position is Calgary based with expectations of travel to our manufacturing facilities in Lloydminster as needed.
Duties:
* Design, develop and test electrical systems and components for Upstream Data's product line, with a focus on power generation, mobile natural gas power units, power distribution systems and bitcoin mining loadcenters
* Develop and manage system integrations between our standard product lines and oil and gas artificial lift systems
* Collaborate with other engineers, technicians, tradesman and suppliers to ensure optimal product design and performance
* Create electrical schematics, bills of materials, and technical documentation
* Participate in the testing and validation of product designs
* Work with customers to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to electrical systems and components
* Support manufacturing, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems and components
* Continuously improve existing products and identify areas for innovation and optimization
* All other tasks and duties as assigned.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
* 10+ years of experience in electrical design, testing, and troubleshooting
* Proficient in CAD software
* Strong understanding of electrical design principles and standards (e.g. UL, CSA, NEC, CEC)
* Experience with embedded systems and microcontroller programming is an asset
* Familiarity with industrial communication protocols is an asset
* Experience in the oil and gas industry is considered an asset
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment
* Knowledge of PLC control, design, and automation is considered an asset
* Self starting and capable of working independently
