*Hassey Property Group, *a prominent Barrie & surrounding area property management group, is seeking a dedicated and professional individual to join the growing team as an *Accountant. *Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the Accountant is responsible for all accounting services for the group of companies. _*Key Responsibilities:*_
* Performing all functions relating to accounts payable and accounts receivable, including tenant receivables and monthly receivable postings
* Preparing bank reconciliations for all managed properties
* Assisting with month-end and year-end procedures
* Assisting with preparing and maintaining all accounting and financial records for all managed properties and internal companies
* Preparing and remitting property tax payments for all managed properties and internal companies
* Posting and tracking work orders and tenant chargebacks
* Preparing payroll journal entries
* Preparing and reviewing financial information to ensure accuracy
* Assisting with all other administrative functions and special projects, as assigned
_*Required Qualifications:*_
* Post-secondary degree or diploma in finance & accounting, or a related field
* A minimum of *2 years* of experience in a similar role; prior property management work experience will be considered an asset
* A strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, practices, tax laws, and reporting requirements
* Must have a high degree of proficiency with Excel

* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* A dedicated problem-solver with a strong degree of analytical skills

* Ability to liaise and clearly communicate with all levels of internal and external contacts
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
* Possess a high level of professionalism and integrity while maintaining confidential information of all company-related matters
