This is Kamloops! Let?s make Kamloops shine! Join our team today.Position OverviewThe City of Kamloops is recruiting for an Assistant Design Engineer to join our team. The Assistant Design Engineer is responsible for maintaining the City?s approved products list and Master Municipal Construction Documents as well as the design and completion of capital projects for upgrades and expansion to the roads, drainage, water and sewer utility infrastructure. This position provides professional engineering services to support the City's capital works program. Registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia OR registered as an Engineer-in-Training with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia. Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office programs; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint at the intermediate level. Minimum three year's of municipal engineering experience, in either municipal government or a private consulting capacity. Minimum one year of supervisory experience. For new hires, and for those working in designated positions of trust, including those working directly with vulnerable persons, no formal offer of employment will be made until an applicant completes a police information check.The annual salary for this position is $106,782.00 for 2023 and $112,908.90 for 2024. The City offers a comprehensive benefit package including generous vacation and an Earned Days Off program. Along with these benefits, the City provides access to fitness facilities, various instructed programs, and community volunteer/engagement opportunities.
