Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Denturist's practice. Independently owned business. Tasks: Prepare plaster models and moulds. Maintain and order supplies. Mould wax over dentures set-up. Finish metal framework of dentures. Prepare wax bite-blocks and impression trays. Pack plastic material in moulds to form full or partial dentures. Polish and buff dentures. Technical expertise (dental): Plastering. Packing. Waxing-up. Polishing. Assembly. Area of specialization: Full dentures. Partial dentures. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Tight deadlines. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Ability to distinguish between colours. Sitting. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Hand-eye co-ordination.
