Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Asset languages: Spanish; Castilian. Polish. Work site environment: Dusty. Noisy. Work setting: Commercial. Industrial. Institutional. Residential. Various locations. Tasks: Prepare, measure and mark surfaces to be covered. Mix, apply and spread mortar, cement, mastic, glue or other adhesives using hand trowel. Prepare rough plans and sketches. Lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural and floor designs. Mix, lay and polish terra surfaces. Install tile strips. Repair and maintain equipment. Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures. Operate power vibrators to compact concrete. Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification. Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement. Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces. Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Specialization or experience: Specialized environmental skills and knowledge. Installation specialization: Terrazzo tiles. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Ability to distinguish between colours. Attention to detail. Own tools/equipment: Safety equipment/gear. Steel-toed safety boots. Hard hat. Safety glasses/goggles.
