*Position Title: *Manufacturing Engineer Internship
*Reports to:* Production Manager
*Work Schedule: 4 Months: *May 2024 ? August 2024
*Job Summary: *
Allseating is looking for a hands-on student for a portfolio of projects over a 4-month term. The candidate will be equally comfortable doing analytics behind a computer and rolling up their sleeves to do light mechanical work in order to configure production equipment. The co-op assignment may require the candidate to make management presentations and prepare formal written reports of their project completion.
*Job Responsibilities:*
The Manufacturing Engineer Intern is responsible for the following:
* Executing a small portfolio of improvement projects. Regularly report status of these projects and be able to show positive results through quantifiable and objective measures;
* Three (3) major projects make up this co-op term:
* 1. Lean cell implementation
* 2. Cutting pattern optimization
* 3. Time studies
* Additional projects may be identified and assigned over the co-op term
*Job Requirements:*
* Must be able to do hands-on work as required, some mechanical and light physical work is required;
* Must be able to work independently and within a team setting;
* Must be analytical and detailed oriented;
* Must have exemplary time management skills with an ability to prioritize work; and
* Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
*Minimum Qualifications:*
* Actively pursuing an Engineering Degree or enrolled in an Engineering Technology program with at minimum, one year completed.
* Knowledge of standardization, continuous improvement, Lead Six Sigma, 5S, continuous flow/cell design
* Familiarity / experience with SolidWorks CAD software is an asset;
* Ability to work in a results, data and metrics driven environment; and
* English language proficiency (read/write/speak)
