Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Fitness centre. Urban area. Various locations. Swimming pool/centre. Recreational facility/institution. Tasks: Instruct groups and individuals in arts and crafts. Assist with coordination of recreational, sport and fitness events . Lead groups and individuals in recreational or leisure programs. Plan and carry out recreational, fitness and sports activities. Prepare reports. Understand principles of group dynamics. Leading/instructing groups. Leading/instructing individuals. Assist clients/guests with special needs. Ensure health and safety regulations are followed. Assemble supplies, sports and game equipment. Monitor recreational, sports or fitness activities to ensure safety and provide emergency or first aid assistance when required. Supervision: 3-4 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : CPR Certificate. First Aid Certificate. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Driving record check (abstract). Vulnerable sector check. Transportation/travel information: Vehicle supplied by employer. Public transportation is available. Personal suitability: Client focus. Dependability. Efficient interpersonal skills.
