The Grand Erie District School Board invites applications from interested, qualified elementary teachers for the CAMP SAIL Summer Learning Program (SLP) from Tuesday July 2 to Friday July 19, 2024. Please be advised that the successful candidates must have experience in both literacy and numeracy instruction. The CAMP SAIL Summer Learning Program places emphasis on primary/early junior literacy and numeracy curriculum areas as the focus of instruction for students going into grades 2-4.Qualifications: Ontario College of Teachers Certificate of Qualification (Primary/Junior)<p> Classroom experience working in Primary or Junior classrooms is preferred, but not required<p> Current knowledge of effective instruction in mathematics and literacy<p> Special Education Qualifications is preferred, but not required<p> Understanding of responsive supports to meet diverse learning needs of students<p> Experience working within a collaborative learning team <p> Responsibilities include: Supporting responsive learning programs<p> Implementing effective literacy and/or numeracy instructional strategies<p> Monitoring and reporting on student progress<p> Working collaboratively with other teachers across the district and with teaching partner(s)<p> Developing strategies to involve and communicate with families<p> Responding to literacy and numeracy needs of students<p> Leading instruction in-person daily with students and other teachers from 8:30 am 3:30 pm<p> Attend training sessions to prepare for the Summer Learning Program in late June <p> Other duties as assigned The number of positions required will be dependent on the number of students who register for the 2024 Camp SAIL program. Camp SAIL locations will be held at Thompson Creek, River Heights, Agnes Hodge, Waterford, and Cobblestone. Applicants are asked to indicate which location they are applying to in their cover letter. Preference will be given to internal contract teachers. Interested candidates are invited to send a resume of experience, qualifications, a copy of their current Certificate of Qualification, practice teaching reports or the most recent performance review(s), their preferred grade and the names of three professional references, one of whom must be a current supervisor/principal.
