There will be required in-service for the successful candidate to complete.<p>Deadline for Applications: May 7, 2024 12:00 pm<p>Electronic Applications must be submitted through Make A Future www.makeafuture.ca and include a Cover Letter, Resume, Teaching Report, Transcripts & the names of 2 current supervisors who can comment on your teaching.Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience: <p>extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching in all areas of this assignment <p>knowledge of, and demonstrated application of the Ministry of Educations current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to this assignment <p>MEd in Teacher-Librarianship, MLIS or Diploma in Teacher-Librarianship and successful experience as a Teacher-Librarian<p>experience and/or willingness to learn the skills necessary to plan, implement, and oversee the development of a school wide program for Media & Technology in our school library<p>demonstrated ability and experience in collaborating with teachers to improve instructional practice in literacy<p>ability to manage a resource collection using curricular and student interests to identify and obtain library materials, organize, and maintain the library collection to promote independent reading and lifelong learning<p>collaboration skills in order to support classroom teachers in fostering independent learners by teaching research, information literacy, technology, communication, and critical thinking skills<p>demonstrated strong interest in, knowledge and understanding of literature and be able to share a passion for books and learning with students<p>familiarity with a wide variety of literacy approaches, strategies, and methods of assessment<p>demonstrated excellent listening, speaking, presentation and writing skills<p>ability to maintain and troubleshoot the library computers, printers, and server<p>successful experience teaching K to 6<p>ability to design and implement a variety of formative and summative assessment practices in Language Arts and Math in order to measure and monitor student progress effectively<p>strong understanding of best teaching practices at the elementary level<p>knowledge of and demonstrated ability in addressing the wide range of academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of children <p>demonstrated ability and proven experience of excellent classroom management <p>knowledge of and commitment to support PBS and school-wide initiatives <p>thorough knowledge of and demonstrated application of the principles of learning <p>commitment and willingness to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and administration in order to support all students through an RTI system and student-centered model<p>commitment to becoming involved and positively contributing to the culture of the school<p>ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with students, staff, and parents <p>evidence of personal initiative and strong work ethic with a proven ability to work collaboratively as an effective team memberFor Further Information Contact: Terry Bateman, Principal or Jaqueline Berkes, Vice Principal (604) 858-9477
