Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Library science, other. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Non-smoking. Air conditioned. Assist library users in accessing basic library materials. Catalogue new library acquisitions under the direction of a librarian. Perform reference searches and make interlibrary loans for users. Ensure that proper procedures are followed in the use of computerized document management systems. Participate in instructing and assisting users. Recommend acquisition of books, periodicals, audio-visual, interactive media and other materials. Oversee the conservation, display and circulation of collections. Special materials (e.g., audio-cassettes, videos, maps, microform, educational kits, etc.). Method of classification and/or cataloguing: Library of Congress (LC) classification. Computer and technology knowledge: Library classification system. Internet. MS Excel. MS Outlook. MS Word. MS Windows. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail.
