We're looking for innovative team players ready to take some of the most well-known entertainment brands in the country to the next level.Job DescriptionResponsible for on-going, pro-active coverage of regional and local issues in the CTV2 Windsor coverage areaIdentify, research, and write news stories and headlines for the station's website and social media properties in keeping with the station's standards and styleStay on top of breaking news, ensuring fresh and relevant content on the siteEdit, package and publish video content for CTV2 News Digital to serve all news platformsCurate photos and build high-impact image galleriesConduct interviews for news coverageGather, write and shoot news material for televisionAs an integrated member of the news team, participate in assignment & line-up decisions and writing of stories for the newscastCritical QualificationsDemonstrated experience (2-3 years) of news writing for broadcast or web/digital that meets editorial, legal, ethical, style and grammatical standards2-3 years experience with editorial decision making, with a track record for quality news judgementExperience with non-linear editing an assetExperience Field shooting an assetPost-Secondary education in journalism or broadcastingIn-depth knowledge of coverage region, national and international news.Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines of several simultaneous duties, while maintaining focus.Proficiency with computer software/internet and practical experience working with technical systems relevant to web operation including Content Management Systems, Adobe Photoshop, various web browsers, Ability to work in a team, and be self-motivated.The successful applicant must demonstrate a high degree of adaptability and must be committed to learning in a fast-paced environment.A full G License is requiredPreferred QualificationsHours of Work: 37.5 hours per week. Including weekend shifts in rotation. Overtime as required based on operational needs#EmployeeReferralProgramAdequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
