The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of fabric behavior, an eye for detail, and the ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines. This role requires precision and creativity to transform raw materials into beautiful, finished products.</p><p> </p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><p> </p><p>• Operate sewing machines to join, reinforce, decorate, or perform related sewing operations in the manufacture of garment or non-garment products.</p><p>• Utilize advanced sewing techniques, including draping and pleating, to meet design specifications and quality standards.</p><p>• Read and interpret work orders and pattern instructions to determine layout, construction, and equipment setup.</p><p>• Perform basic maintenance on machines, such as threading, needle changing, and oiling, to ensure optimal performance.</p><p>• Adjust machine settings for different fabrics, patterns, and stitching requirements.</p><p>• Inspect finished products for quality assurance and adherence to customer specifications.</p><p>• Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and perform adjustments or repairs as necessary.</p><p>• Collaborate with designers and pattern makers to understand and achieve desired outcomes.</p><p>• Keep a clean and organized workspace to maintain a safe and efficient production environment.</p><p>• Maintain accurate records of production quantities, materials used, and any issues encountered.</p><p>• Stay updated on the latest sewing techniques and machinery advancements to continually improve skills and efficiency.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><p> </p><p>• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in textile technology, fashion design, or a related field is a plus.</p><p>• Proven experience as a Sewing Machine Operator with specialized skills in draping, stitching, and pleating.</p><p>• Proficiency in operating various types of sewing machines (e.g., lockstitch, overlock, coverstitch) and pleating equipment.</p><p>• Strong understanding of fabrics, patterns, and garment construction.</p><p>• Ability to read and follow complex instructions and diagrams.</p><p>• Keen eye for detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.</p><p>• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.</p><p>• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.</p><p> </p><p>• Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet production deadlines.</p><p>• Physical stamina and the ability to maintain concentration for extended periods.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Working Conditions:</strong></p><p> </p><p>• This position is based in a manufacturing environment and may involve extended periods of standing or sitting.</p><p>• Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and perform repetitive movements.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Pay Rate:</strong></p><p>$17 - $20</p><p> </p><p><strong>Hours: </strong></p><p>Full-time. 40 hours per week.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Schedule: </strong></p><p>Monday to Friday - 7:00 am - 3:30 pm</p><p> </p></div></div>- LocationEtobicoke, ON
