Friday, 3 pm-11 pm</strong></p><p><strong>Submit Resume to: yasir.ansari@homesfirst.on.ca</strong></p><p></p><p><strong>APPLICANTS MUST QUOTE ?AS-319"</strong></p><p></p><p>We are currently seeking an Afternoon Shift Supervisor to work at the 24-hour housing program located at All Saints Church (319 Dundas Street East).</p><p><strong>Job Responsibilities:</strong></p><p></p><ul><li>Supervise a unionized workforce within the context of the Collective Agreement.</li><li>Provide case management expertise and support to the Community Housing Workers on site</li><li>Prioritize and assign shift responsibilities and duties to team members</li><li>Ensure the safety of the tenants and the building through access control, overseeing guests, and regular monitoring of life safety systems</li><li>Intervene in crises, de-escalate conflicts and respond to tenant emergencies, including overdoses and the administration of Naloxone or oxygen</li><li>Ensure adherence to Homes First Harm reduction policies</li><li>Liaise with Property Management and file work orders when necessary for repairs</li><li>Ensure effective communications with other departments within Homes First Society as well as with external agencies</li><li>Manage employee performance and perform necessary administrative duties such as timekeeping, performance reviews, etc.</li><li>Ensure that all documentation is completed to agency standards</li><li>Assist when necessary in preparing applications to the Landlord and Tenant Board</li><li>Be able to work occasional weekends and/or evenings, when required</li><li>Be able to fulfill any element of the Community Housing Worker job description on an as needed basis</li><li>Be willing and able to carry 24-hour emergency pager on rotation</li><li>Other responsibilities, as required</li></ul><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><p></p><ul><li>Post-secondary education in related field or equivalent in education and experience</li><li>At least 3 years? experience working with people who are homeless, under-housed and dealing with addictions and mental illness</li><li>At least 1 years? experience in a supervisory role in a unionized environment</li><li>Demonstrated experience performing case management functions and ability to effectively prioritize work in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment</li><li>Excellent communication, organization and time management skills</li><li>Supervisory experience in a unionized setting an asset</li><li>Knowledge of relevant laws, standards and guidelines; including the Residential Tenancies Act</li><li>Knowledge of resources and services available in the community</li><li>Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution and organization skills</li><li>Certificates in First Aid, CPR, Crisis Prevention and Intervention an asset</li></ul><ul><li>The successful candidate will be required to work where smoking is present.</li><li>Certificate of Completion of Homelessness Learning Hub?s Harm Reduction for the Homelessness Sector considered an asset</li><li>Other duties as required</li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><em>Working in an environment where there may be smoke is required.<br> The successful applicant must provide a criminal record check that is satisfactory to Homes First Society Homes First Society is an equal opportunity employer</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><strong>Accommodation</strong></p><p>Homes First is committed to creating an accessible and inclusive organization.
