<p><b>POSITION: </b><b>INUKTITUT TRANSLATOR / INTERPRETER </b><b></b><b> </b></p><p><b>DEPARTMENT: </b><b>GENERAL ADMINISTRATION </b><b></b><b> </b></p><p><b>SALARY: </b><b>FROM $47,137 TO $75,591 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS </b><b> </b></p><p><b>COMPETITION NUMBER: </b><b>INUTRANSINTER2405-01</b></p><p><b>LOCATION: MONTREAL</b></p><p><b>STATUS: </b><b>FULL-TIME REGULAR</b><b> </b></p><p><b>START DATE: </b><b>MAY 2024</b></p><p><b><i>Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (KI) is a school board offering educational services in the 14 communities of Nunavik.</i></b><b> </b></p><p><b>FUNCTION & DUTIES:</b></p><p>Under the authority of the Secretary General, the Translator/Interpreter provides accurate translations of documents, and interprets at meetings to ensure efficient communication in Inuktitut and either English or French.</p><p> </p><p><b>QUALIFICATIONS:</b></p><p>Translator's certificate or diploma <u>and/or</u> 2 years relevant experience.</p><p> </p><p><i>The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the aforementioned qualifications if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (JBNQA) and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.<b></b></i></p><p> </p><p><b>requirements:</b></p><ul><li>Fluent in written and spoken Inuktitut</li><li>Fluent in either English or French</li><li>Computer literate.</li><li>Able and willing to travel upon request.</li></ul><p> </p><p><b>CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:</b></p><p>In accordance with the SPPENOM collective agreement for professionals. This position belongs to job category 2140: from $47,137 to $75,591 annually depending on qualification and experience.
