FINANCE MANAGER (FULL-TIME)
*REPORTING TO: *CHIEF AND COUNCIL

Eagle Lake First Nation is seeking a dynamic and experienced Finance Manager to join our team at the Band Office. As the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic financial guidance to the band office leadership. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of financial management in a governmental or non-profit organization.
*JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*
* Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
* Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to provide accurate and timely financial information to the band office leadership.
* Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
* Monitor cash flow, investments, and financial performance to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
* Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with reporting and auditing requirements.
* Provide financial guidance and support to band office departments and programs to help achieve their goals and objectives.
* Supervise and mentor finance staff, providing training and development opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge.
*REQUIREMENTS:*
* Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in a governmental or non-profit organization.
* Strong understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulations relevant to Indigenous communities.
* Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Office applications.
* Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
