*Job description*
The Network Administrator is responsible for general network maintenance on local and wide area networks relating to users, contexts, and network devices. This position will support the Agency by coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating technical requirements to capitalize on security, supportability, cost savings, compliance, and efficiency.
*About the Position*
This is a *temporary* *full-time position, working 7.5 hours daily and 37.5 hours a week located in Medicine Hat, Alberta*.
· Deploy and maintain systems, applications, telecommunications, and related computer equipment
· Install, configure, and support the software and hardware components of internal/external networks
· Coordinate testing of systems and execute routine maintenance to enhance network management, security, and performance standards, preparing reports on completed work
· Coordinate installation and repair of business telephone and communication equipment
· Research and assist in defining the technical requirements of a project/function to resolve network/telephone issues and recommend optional solutions
· Troubleshoot network performance and provide technical guidance to end users, reviewing their requirements and coordinating schedules when necessary
· Operate master consoles to manage and synchronize use of networks and monitor performance
· Provide migration and integration strategies in addition to defining development architectures and directions for voice technologies
· Follow up and keep records of equipment dispatch received from vendors after repairs/maintenance
· Follow up on the status of spares stock and prepare requirements to supervisor
· Administer and monitor the use of all networks for adherence to Agency policy, as well as connections to the Internet and peripheral equipment
· Provide training and orientation for staff in services, applications, and equipment, ensuring that appropriate operational documentation is produced
· Assist with capacity planning for network bandwidth, storage requirements, messaging, Web sites, and other applications
· Maintain control records and perform data backups to ensure data security
*Job Requirements:*
· Between two to five years of relevant experience
· 2 years of post-secondary education in a related field
· Microsoft Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Microsoft Certified Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, or Azure Administrator Associate designation preferred
· Knowledge of programming concepts, software development cycles, and associated tools and platforms
· Proficiency with network security,modern operating systems including Windows 10 and 11 and Microsoft Azure environments
· Knowledgeable of telecommunications services and technology offered by service providers
· Effective project management skills
· Ability to explain technical concepts and theories to non-technical audiences
· Clean Criminal and Vulnerable Sector record or one that is acceptable to the Executive Director
· A positive attitude and belief that persons with disabilities have the right and responsibility to define and act on their life choices and seek active participation in the community
· A suitable combination of education and experience may be considered
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.75-$28.75 per hour
