Reports to: This position reports to the Executive Chef.
*Job Overview*
The Executive Sous Chef is responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in overseeing kitchen operations and coaching team members at Peake HQ. This position ensures the timely and accurate production of all food being provided for deliveries, and fully staffed events. The Executive Sous Chef should know, respect, and promote the Peake core values.

*Major Responsibilities*
* Execute and supervise food production activities.
* Development of standard recipes and techniques for food preparation and presentation.
* Assist Executive Chef in menu development.
* Guide the kitchen team in day-to-day operations including training new staff
* Conduct, coordinate, and supervise inventories and the placement of orders
* Maintain and monitor the quality of food produced
* Review and update catering manuals and software as necessary
* Ensures that high standards of sanitation, cleanliness, and safety are consistently maintained throughout all kitchen areas. Ensures Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations are followed
* Lead the kitchen and perform key administrative duties when the Executive Chef is away
* Maintain strong labour and food budgets
* Attend key off-premise catering events to assist in ensuring client & guest satisfaction
* Tasks outside of those outlined in the job description may be required during times of increased demand\*

* This role will require the lifting of supplies, equipment, and product. Exposure to normal kitchen hazards
* This position requires long periods of standing and moving
* Frequent interruptions from team members, environmental noise, and tight deadlines
$70k-80K base, with an opportunity to earn more.

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:
* Vancouver, BC V5L 1H7: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Experience:
* catering/banquet kitchen: 4 years (preferred)
* sous chef: 3 years (preferred)
* Culinary: 5 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
* Food Handler Certification (preferred)
