Olon Industries has an exciting full-time opportunity for a Senior accountant!
Working as an integral part of the finance team, this key role interacts with a variety of stakeholders to support business growth and departmental development.
Reporting directly to the Controller, you will be responsible for banking functions, government tax filing, consolidated financial statement preparation, various other month end close duties, biweekly payroll, analyzing and making recommendations on cost saving opportunities, process improvements, acting as backup for both AR and AP, and other reporting requirements as requested by management. This role is a growth opportunity.

Responsibilities:
* Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements for internal/external use
* Prepare US and CA plant reports and provide recommendations for improvements
* Variance reporting and analysis
* Prepare and distribute monthly plant reports and make recommendations on cost saving opportunities
* Month end account reconciliations and lead sheet preparation
* Monthly government tax filing and ad hoc reporting
* Prepare and enter journal entries
* Analyze and recommend improvements to financial processes and internal controls
* Daily bank reconciliation
* Manage and administer bi-weekly payroll for US and CA
* Administer 401K and RRSP plans and funding
* Assist controller to review and approve weekly cheque runs
* Assist with year-end audit and preparation of working papers
* Provide backup support for AR and AP
* Ad hoc business projects
* All other duties as required
Skills/Experience Required:
* 5+ years of prior accounting experience at an intermediate-senior level
* Excellent organizational, negotiation and communication skills
* Strong technical accounting knowledge
* ASPE
* US GAAP an asset
* Advanced Excel proficiency
* Strong problem solving skills
* Ability to work independently and in a fast-pace fluid environment
Required Education
* Accounting degree or diploma
* CPA candidate
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
